  I am having trouble believing in God...

  i was raised a jw and i am still one but recently i have been having trouble believing in a god.

  this is not meant to offend anyone who does, i am just curious to see if i am the only one who thinks this..... to start, i am a very black and white person.

  if 1+1=2 it makes sense to me and i can agree with it.

  i am looking for more ideas of interesting movies and gritty crime shows to watch.. .

  the killings, wallander, luther, dexter, braquo (french (english subbed) german (berlin berlin), sherlock, george gently, inspector frost, inspector lewis, did i say "dexter (though the ending was a bummer :( ) "orange is the new black", "house of cards", "mad men".. .

  can you add to my profile of movies and series i need to see?

  Angharad - I didn't mind the ending either it was good. Although if you read the ending planned by the orignal producer it would have been awesome.

  I just read it. That would have been better.

  Agree, and welcome.

  Also, Lone Survivor was awesome.

  Faithful Witness - The Conjuring (yes, I did leave the light on) ... scariest movie I've watched in a LONG time.

  Yes! The wife and I saw it in the theater. I haven't been that scared since I was 19 and watched The Ring alone in the dark in my apartment.

  I love scary movies, Mobster movies and war movies. And some comedies.

  I encourage all who wish to handle snakes as a demonstration of their faith to do so as often as possible.

  Agree.

  At what point did you destroy your Blood card?

  i know for me it was soon after lurking here for awhile and reading some threads on the issue.

  i remenber when i tore it into little tiny pieces.

  it felt so liberating..

  For me, it was about 1 or 2 months after I decided to leave. The blood issue was always a biggie for me. I was born with major complications and needed multiple blood transfusions. My mom signed a document refusing me the life saving transfusions. My dad, a non JW, told the doctors or nurses to lose or tear up what ever my mom signed and to give me the transfusion.

  Shortly before I even considered leaving the org, they changed the blood policy allowing fractions as a “conscience” decision. That was one of many things that began my awakening.

  I remember the night I tore up the No Blood Card well. I was out of town working, stating in a hotel. I decided right then and there, just after reading jwfacts and other sites to tear it up. It felt liberating. I had been reading different articles and sites for months prior to that night.

  Maybe it was cognitive dissonance, but I never thought what my mom did was wrong. In 27 years I always thought she did what she thought was right. I never had anger or sadness about her decision until I woke up. Now, I don’t feel anger, she is brainwashed.

  ugh...now I'm getting mad

  venting.... hubby visited with sil (with gotee intact), got the wt don't approve speech and the 'we've been missing you at the meetings".. he gave all the excuses he could for why we weren't there.

  i'm at the point of just telling them the truth as why... but we will be giving up our grandchildren.

  i just don't know if i can do it, give up the grandkids.

  I agree with everyone else. Ignore their requests and if he is confronted about anything, lie lie lie… We’ve had phone calls and knocks on the door from elders. Last time I spoke to them, I told them, “You only have power over me if I give it to you. I don’t.” and ended the phone call there. Stay strong and reward your hubby accordingly...
